Ferry needs a secure (https) connection to encrypt files. Open it over https, or on this computer at http://localhost.
Move files between your computers with five words.
Start a session here, type the five words on your other computer, then add files on either one. Files are encrypted in your browser before they're uploaded and deleted when the session ends.
How your files stay private
- Your browser turns the five words into the encryption key. The words and the key never leave your computers.
- File contents and names are encrypted before upload. The server stores scrambled chunks it can't read, and any change to them is caught when you download.
- Everything is deleted when you end the session or the time runs out. Unless you choose to keep them, files are also deleted a couple of minutes after both computers close this page.
- No accounts, no cookies, no third-party scripts.
